Catholic University of “Sacro Cuore” in Milano - testing for seismic hazard analysis
The diagnosis concerned the masonry and reinforced concrete structures of the Gregorianum building in the west wing of the Catholic University of Milano to analyse their seismic hazard.
The following operations were carried out:
- flat jack testing to determine the masonry stress;
- parallel flat jack testing to detect the masonry deformation characteristics;
- shear test on masonry performed with the use of flat jack with FJ-SCT technique;
- sonic testing for masonry typology detection;
- chemical - physical - petrographic analysis of mortar;
- compression tests on brickwork sampled from the masonry;
- SonReb testing for concrete resistance and compression values;
- endoscopic video inspection for the detection of small dimension masonry details;
- load testing on attic structures with the use of hydraulic jacks
