Power plants in Baggio (MI), Cedegolo (BS) and Stazzona (SO)

The enlargement of the plants “Baggio” in Settimo Milanese (MI), “Cedegolo” (BS), and “Stazzona” in Villa di Tirano (SO), aimed at increasing plant safety and stability while also fulfilling all service requirements and guaranteeing the safety of operators.

All figures responsible for the various aspects of area management, site management, equipment and movement were identified and checked as to conformation with the relevant legislation and with the documentation issued from the client: “management and prevention of electrical hazard”

The proximity and distance limits allowed for a reduction in the quantity of work to be done under supervision, with off limits sections of the plant reduced to those strictly foreseen by the project within the distance limit, increasing operator awareness of potential dangers, thus, implementing real safety at work.

The project required highly specialized operators: localized demolition and civil engineering, reinforced concrete prefabricated assembly, metal structure and workstation assembly, assembly and testing of tri-phase fuse-boxes, SF6 switches, electro-mechanical equipment with treatment of potentially polluting and dangerous substances, local network cabling and local and remote control panel management. 

Considering the wide number of contractors involved in the work, the project manager required complete control form Health & Safety co-ordinator and full interface between the site manager, works manager and operational team.
