VERIFICATION OF THE STATE OF CONSERVATION OF TIRANO SANCTUARY
19 March 2025
Foppoli Moretta e Associati is collaborating with the Diocese of Como- Sanctuary of Madonna di Tirano for the analysis of the state of conservation of the building with the objective of optimizing the preservation of the monument from the collection of historical information, the state of degradation.
The assistance is part of the Planned Preventive Conservation, a discipline that provides targeted activities to optimize the preservation of the building over time, starting from the collection of information on its historical evolution, its geometry, the materials used and the current state of degradation. In the past months, the detailed geometric survey of the building was carried out using a laser scanner, which made it possible to obtain a three-dimensional model of the building with very high precision; It was also supplemented by a photogrammetric survey with drone, which made it possible to acquire very detailed images, enriching the previous data with very realistic visual information, as in the case of the internal vaults of the sanctuary.
At the same time, a history of restoration work over the last 60 years has been reconstructed by analysing the available archival documentation. The documents have been collected, classified and photographed to provide a basic knowledge framework for the next phase of intervention which involves the execution of diagnostic investigations in situ.
Foppoli Moretta e Associati, with its consolidated experience in the field of structural diagnostics, is able to provide qualified support to ensure the preservation over time of monumental buildings, in order to protect the historical and artistic heritage.
