Ponte di Stazzona fully reopened

The restoration works on the Ponte di Stazzona have been completed, and the bridge has now been permanently returned to public use.
On Thursday, June 11, and Friday, June 12, the final delicate operations for the repositioning of the 132,000 V high-voltage cable were carried out, strictly under the supervision of Terna Rete Italia S.p.A. Today’s inspections confirmed that all works were executed correctly.
The overall project involved the restoration of the bridge parapet and structure, originally built in 1912–13, featuring an interesting use of reinforced concrete typical of that pioneering period.
The entire deck was then reinforced, making the structure suitable for current traffic loads and compliant with seismic safety requirements.
Under the deck, conduits were installed to reorganize existing telephone and sewer systems, as well as to accommodate future needs related to the new Tirano bypass: communications fiber, water supply, and medium- and low-voltage electrical lines.
The final finishing work on the embankments, scheduled for next week, will complete the construction site.
It is important to recognize the dedication of the contractor, G.G. S.r.l. of Rogolo, which organized and equipped itself to operate both during the cold season and throughout the lockdown period, enabling the early completion of the works ahead of the contractual schedule.
