Mission in Moscow on behalf of the International Atomic Energy Agency

As part of the RER1018 project, “Harmonizing Non-Destructive Testing, Training and Certification for Civil Engineering and Cultural Heritage,” the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) invited Eng. Dario Foppoli to participate as an expert in a meeting aimed at developing the syllabus to be used internationally for the certification of personnel working in the application of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) to civil engineering structures.
The meeting was hosted in Moscow by Kachestvo, a Russian company operating in the NDT sector. The participation of experts from Russia, Germany, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, New Zealand, Morocco, and Argentina once again highlighted the Agency’s commendable goal of fostering continuous international exchange among representatives from all regions involved.
The documents were developed based on the work carried out the previous autumn in Wellington, revising the format to align the syllabi with international standards and ensure their suitability for submission to the relevant international bodies (ICNDT, ISO, and IAEA), as well as analyzing their content.
In the coming months, the submitted documents will undergo further review by the experts to allow for the presentation of a draft to the ICNDT Certification Committee (International Committee for Non-Destructive Testing) during the 20th WCNDT (World Conference on Non-Destructive Testing) to be held in Seoul.
