Keynote speech a Vienna alla la 62th General Conference dell’ International Atomic Energy Agency

In the second half of September, the 62nd IAEA General Conference was held at the Vienna International Centre, headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), with the participation of over 2,500 delegates from the 153 member states.
The week-long conference also included a series of side events aimed at presenting the most notable best practices developed by the IAEA and its member states, as well as highlighting special programs and initiatives.
Within this framework, Dario Foppoli was invited as a keynote speaker at a side-event titled “Non-Destructive Testing: Methods and Techniques for Civil Structures in Pre- and Post-Management of Natural Disasters”, aimed at presenting examples of the application of non-destructive testing methods to identify structural weaknesses and assess the integrity of key infrastructure and cultural heritage in relation to natural disasters.
During the event, the most significant experiences worldwide were presented through four presentations, covering seismic protection efforts in the Far East (Japan), Southeast Asia (Nepal), South America (Mexico), and Europe (Italy). Dario Foppoli represented Europe, delivering a well-attended presentation entitled “Assessment of Vulnerability and Damages in the Seismic Field: Italian Experience.
