Invited lecture at cconference art'17 in Torino

Dario Foppoli was invited to deliver an invited lecture in the Hall of Honour of the Castello del Valentino in Turin during the plenary session of the 12th International Conference on Non-Destructive Investigations and Microanalysis for the Diagnostics and Conservation of Cultural and Environmental Heritage (ART’17), to be held at the Politecnico di Torino from November 22 to 24. The conference, organized by the Italian Association for Non-Destructive Testing (AIPnD) and promoted by the American University of Sharjah (AUS), is part of a biennial series of events dating back to 1983 and represents one of the most important international forums for the application of advanced diagnostic and monitoring techniques for the conservation of cultural and environmental heritage. Past editions have been hosted at equally prestigious locations such as Rome, Berlin, Antwerp, Florence, Jerusalem, and Madrid.

This year’s edition will bring together over 60 experts from around the world and will provide a unique opportunity to review the state of the art in a wide range of topics, including environmental monitoring and protection, microanalysis and conservation, non-destructive testing, mechanical characterization of materials, structural assessment, and monitoring of cultural heritage.

In his presentation, entitled “NDT for the Assessment of Seismic Behaviour of Italian Heritage Buildings”, Dario Foppoli will showcase, as best practices, the most significant investigation and monitoring activities carried out over the past decade by Foppoli Moretta e Associati on several renowned monuments of the Italian heritage.
