Structural investigations on the footbridge at Toce waterfall

On May 23, 2019, a specific investigation of the wooden structures of the footbridge over the Toce River waterfall in Formazza was carried out on behalf of the Municipality of Formazza.
The activities, aimed at identifying and assessing any areas of deterioration in the wooden beams composing the footbridge, included visual inspections for timber characterization and instrumental analyses (using a Resistograph) to investigate areas affected by decay or rot.
All the above activities were carried out safely by specialized personnel qualified for work at height, using rope access and positioning systems.
