Former judicial prison complex in Rovereto

A recent and interesting project involved two buildings forming part of the Former Judicial Prison Complex in Rovereto, which the Italian State Property Agency – Trentino-Alto Adige Regional Directorate plans to convert into the headquarters of the Guardia di Finanza(Italian financial police) in Rovereto
The assignment included the seismic vulnerability assessment, energy diagnosis, the preparation of the Technical and Economic Feasibility Design, and all related services.
The preliminary survey, carried out using laser-scanning techniques, made it possible to develop a highly accurate BIM model representing the as-built condition of the buildings, which proved essential for the preparation of the feasibility study.
The structural analysis was developed starting from a detailed investigation phase carried out using diagnostic techniques, which made it possible to achieve a level of knowledge suitable for finite element modeling. Through detailed surveys of stratigraphy, external partitions, and openings, an accurate energy diagnosis of the buildings was also performed, providing the basis for the design of energy performance improvements.
