Best practices for students of the conservation course at the polytechnic

On 12 May, students of the Conservation course at the Polytechnic University of Milan took a guided study tour in Valtellina to examine restoration and enhancement projects carried out by FOPPOLI MORETTA E ASSOCIATI srl.

The visit aimed to disseminate and promote knowledge of planned conservation activities and the adoption of practices for mitigating environmental and human-induced risks, with the goal of preserving historical structures. It also sought to introduce the project “Conserving and Enhancing the Cultural Landscape of the Middle Valtellina”, which aims to foster awareness of the value of the landscape through initiatives that encourage its understanding and maintenance.

Students visited the Castello di Bellaguarda and Casa Canali (in Tovo). Dario Foppoli explained the technical interventions carried out for the restoration of the buildings and presented related initiatives for raising awareness, knowledge dissemination, and the development of skills connected to traditional construction techniques and the maintenance of historic fabric.
