Valdone bridge in Valmalenco (SO)

A structural monitoring system was set up with fixed instruments inside and outside the bridge deck.

Analysis foresaw both internal and external structural inspections, as well as the planning and monitoring system and its installation. Deformation, changes in cracking, changes in crack size, changes in joint opening size, thermal probes for concrete temperature and for air temperature readings and an easily accessible converter control panel were all installed. The system will operate for more than 5 years thus allowing a great quantity of storage of data and its subsequent statistic analysis.
