Bellaguarda castle in Tovo (SO) - structures
The castle ruins were restored as a first step, to allow their touristic fruition.
The foundations were reinforced with curbs in reinforced concrete. Elevated parts of the structure were reinforced with metal tie rods inside masonry or on its surface, however, in all cases, using pre existing holes making the project visually compatible and convertible.
The only still partially intact area, the guard house, was structurally improved and covered using a wooden and glass structure to optimize illumination of interior spaces.
