Scala and Lenasco Rivers in Sondalo (SO)
To reduce the hydraulic hazard of the Scala River, it was necessary to complete a previously unfinished protection project with heightened left embankment and accessorial service completion.
On the Lenasco River, it was necessary to improve the safety of the entire alluvial fan. Work was carried out on its course and that of its tributaries, Raltana and Dombastone with longitudinal banking defence (banks and groynes in rough hewn stone), transversal defence (water level weirs and stone clad weirs) and improvement of the Adda confluence aimed at optimizing access (water course crossing points, council aqueduct management, run off water management and bridge foundation stabilization at the crossing intersection with the main road).
The interventions were fully designed with low environmental impact forestry engineering techniques.
