Vallecetta River in Valdisotto (SO)
The reduction of hydraulic hazard of Vallecetta River in Valdisotto (SO) included the creation of new weirs in the intermediate section and the re-profiling of the river bed through the set-up of a selective weir followed by further weirs. The intervention was fully designed with low environmental impact forestry engineering techniques.
Reinforcement of certain parts of the bank was carried out, following which some low level soil movement occurred. A 2nd category bridge was built for crossings the river and a 1st category bridge was built at crossing intersection with the main road.
